safe speeds with only front propshaft

Trying to get rid of a nagging vibration; took off the rear propshaft and the handbrake drum. I now want to go for a test drive without these extra bits. Can I safely go up to 120km/h (about 75mph)?

I am then going to put back the drum, go for a drive again etc.

I have driven on the front prop shaft only but only at 60 to 70km. I have heard of some saying that running on the just one shaft is bad for the transfer case.
have you done any mods to the suspension ie: lifted. my friend lifted his defender and had to have a double cardon front prop shaft made. how old is the vehicle I ask as the prop shafts could be worn I had worn slip joints in mine and this caused a vibration.

I've driven around on the front diff only for a while and the word is 'gently'. Opinion: It's not the speed, but the power that kills - ie don't load up the drivetrain without the other end. That being said, with gentle acceleration on a flat straight piece of road you should be fine up to 100k - any further would be rolling the dice a bit too much.

Make sure you lock the CDL .......

It was quite fun in the wet, chipped etc etc td5 rwd wet road

I've driven in both RWD and FWD only set-ups....

Gently on acceleration is the key, but I've had it up to 160km/h overtaking like that with no issues...

    Cruise speed of 115km/h though!

I have done similar. 100-140 sweet as, also trying find a vibration and once with a f-d rear diff (pin broke). Only thing to note, other whats been said, is that it will handle worse than a Nissan.

I've taken it up to 100km/h yesterday... still vibration. So it's probably not in the rear propshaft / handbrake drum. Next is to take off the front propshaft.

The main reason not to accelerate hard is because you are putting all your power to the front diff, axles and CV's instead of sharing this power to front and rear.

As for the speed it shouldn't matter.
