Water in fuel light, no longer starting

G'day all, yesterday had the water in fuel light come on. No dramas drain it when I get home. This morning unplugged the sensor and started to unscrew, but would not come off after many rotations and the sensor not going down or up, stopped and reconnected sensor. Went to start and return into drive way and she started without hiccup but could not rev at all! When the accelerator was floured she gave a slight member but would not increase revs and white smoke from exhaust So switched off and attempted restart, just cranking only no fire.

    Any ideas?

You are getting air in thru the sender by the sound of it.This has happened to others in the past. The fix mentioned is to remove the sender and but a metric bolt in its place, sorry I dont recall the size.

Not sure of your vehicle but IMOO Dont try to start it again until you have confirmed that there is no water in your fuel. I would be dropping a fuel line and bleed it into a jar and check for water. If its got water in it i would be draining the tank and flushing the fuel sysytem prior to the filters, replacing the filters and bleed the injector pump to get rid of any water. Once this was done go for a start and cross your fingers. Remember those warning lights usually mean something. If in doubt my moto is Stop and investigate.

I have had to twist and pull at the same time to drop nylon bleeders occasionaly some ebven have an oring which gets stuck. Good luck
    may also require system bleed.

    Yep,sender/sensor become brittle.
They get busted when you try to loosen,or worse when a gravel stone bounces off them.At least when you damage them you are normally at home or such a place to fix it,unlike when an act of rock occurs
Tips in the past are remove and use a metric bolt.
    GOODLUCK

    Hey Easo
Its a M10 thread, just checked a spare filter in the shed. And the good news is it comes with a drain to replace the factory version.
Its a genuine Mahle filter from Karcraft.
