    Hot coil & power amp

Hey guys after a trip to Stockton I noticed my coil was really hot like couldn't touch it hot, 93 d1 v8 I had to remount the coil from it's original possy to the other side of the snorkel to air box rubber hose but it now sits directly above an Rpi ignition power amplifier.

the coil is still mounted horizontally checked the coil connections from photo before removal & thats ok.

could the coil or amp be giving off an electro magnetic field or something being within 2 to 3cm of each other to cause both to get that hot?

It's extremely unlikely that magnetic fields will cause your coil to get hot, that much field would fry radio input stages for miles around. It is more likely that your coil is not exactly right for your aftermarket amplifier, may be simply getting too much current. Anywhere under the bonnet of a D1 is going to be hot in summer, if its hotter than coolant temp it would boil water dripped on to it.

Thanks beeuty probably haven't touched the coil before after a run so maybe it's normal, she doesn't seem to be running any different & the tm 2 got upto 90c a few times.
