    Well They Got me AGAIN!!

Well it’s been a long time since my last post! Sad, this post is more of a whinge than the sort of post I’d like, but may be relevant to those that like the mechanical points of view, and the importance of “reliable parts supply”, or service, as some of us call it. I hope this is the right place to post it, I think it’s more important here! It’s the increasing number of times I order parts and don’t get WHAT I PAID FOR, or AT ALL!! FOR WEEKS/ MONTHS!!! I’m not going to mention Company names YET, but it’s wearing thin, these are Australian. I wish backyard companies and larger ones, would not, “ A” say they have a “new” part in stock only to send you a stuffed second hand one, after taking the money for a new one, then you have to fight for your money back, after you return the part. “B” take your money, and say, ”will have it next week” only to find a month later it’s still on back order from the UK, and should arrive around 2020, and won’t give you your money back, because they most likely SMOKED IT! Sorry, but they have done me and a couple of my mates over time & recently, it’s a bit sad because the last time I got out of classic cars was for a similar reason, I just got sick of dealing with them. I know there are some GREAT Australian land rover parts suppliers, these are the only companies I will be dealing with from now on! Here’s a photo of a hub missing a part I ordered 3 weeks ago, and paid for, do you think these caps are hard to get??? I ordered 2 second hand ones!! Again I'm sorry to carry on, Hope this makes people a little more weary of shoddy opperators.

Mate Iam sorry to hear that but have a talk to these people

    L. R. Series - specialists in land rover, land rover series and range rover - gearbox, axle, transmission parts, spares and major units

I have not had a bad dealing yet and they will quote postage before you order.

Longest I have ever waited for (this was from paddock spares) was 13 days and that was for about 15 things including a snorkal

I'll second that - I have had a few orders with L. R. Series - all good. Prompt replies to queries too.

I recently did the the rear bearings/seals on my S3 - this mob supplied the kit http://www.roverparts.com.au/home- all good so far.

I'm finding it cheaper to import direct from UK though, which is a dilemma because I like to support our local suppliers too.
This is hard when you get quoted $900 for a S3 speedo head - I am not kidding - could have knocked me over with a toyota! - Got one for $100 brand new from UK.

The problem in general is there are too many businesses full stop like this, on the flip side there are just as many brillint businesses and when I find them I patronize them. I wont tolerate BS and walk if there is too much. However also bear in mind some things are beyond some businesses control.
