Had two mechanics listen to the noise today, neither could pick what it could be, will be taking it to Albury tomorrow for further checking with landrover orientated mechanics.![]()
Replace the gasket between the turbo and the pipe, sometimes tightening the loose bolt will not stop the leak, tip spray liberally (the nuts) with a good quality penetrating oil a few hours before you intend undoing the nuts/bolts, Regards Frank.
Found the culprit! When removing the exaust manifold I could not remove the egr pipework due to stripping the allen screw heads so the stainless tube was cut off about 3" from the manifold then just welded up to close the hole. It turns out that under load the exaust gasses were reverberating in this small amount of pipe causing the noise. It was diagnosed and temporarily fixed by wrapping fibreglass rope around the pipe, noise stopped.![]()
