if it runs out it will stuff the pump..

you might be able to get away with connecting the output of the pump direct to the return of the tank which will drop the pressure and might stop it from leaking but you wont have power steering.

if you had the beltage you could just drop belt if its a v8 but your pooched on that front if its a TD5.

where in the hose has it let go...

if its at a union and your have the right tools you can pull the union fitting down, cut the bit back and take the slack out of the line by replacing the fitting in the hose..

The last trick only works if you have a pump that has an internal relief setup. This is identified as a pump that only has 2 lines on it 1 going to the tank and the other to the steering box.

you can also fit a ball bearing or soldered up screw head into the output line of the pump to stop the flow but you will be limited to 5 minutes of driving at a time or you will likely cook the oil in the pump from its recirculating inside the pump.

drop me a line on which engine you have and I'll double check the rave layout to see which one it is. (assuming it tells me)

Can you remove the power steering belt? Even if you have to cut it off,...have a new one fitted when you get the hose sorted.

The steering will be somewhat heavy but the pump won't be running so no damage will be done.

There is a sliding scale of desperation vs $. What are your other options?

At the top of the 'I've got to get out of here no-matter-what' is hose clamps (Vise grips?) and a cut up tin can. Then, in the middle is Mr BK's ideas. At the bottom is 'My D2 is worth too much, I'll pay for a tow'.

Power steering hoses carry anywhere from 400 to 1000 psi (28 to 77 kg/cm)
so if it's leaking you'll need something hefty to seal it.

If you get to town, get Pirtek or equivalent to make a copy of the original hose...should be a lot cheaper than the "genuine" part!!!...and better quality.

I hope you're a patient man as the replacement of the power steering hoses is quite an involved process due to the fact that they run from one side of the chassis to the other and are located above the front cross member and below the radiator, intercooler and oil cooler.
Take care when disconnecting the oil cooler pipes as I induced a leak in one of the cooler pipes - requiring a replacement oil cooler - when doing mine. They are a push on fitting and are not easy to disconnect when you can't get a decent grip on them.
Anyway, good luck, I hope it goes well for you.

You can also wrap Silicone "Rescue Tape" around it ... rated 700psi .... available at a reputable 4x4 shop or maybe the local Auto shop

+ add some hose clamps over a beer can .....
