    Overdrive

Wondering if anyone could identify this overdrive for me. I have found a Fairey manual online and a parts list for a Toro and I can't tell which one it is from those. It has no markings on it that I can find.

Also has anybody converted a series Landrover attached overdrive to electric actuation? It seems to me that it would be so much easier to set it up with a solenoid or linear actuator than to set up the linkages and put a hole through the floor.

It's a Toro. The lever comes out through the vertical part of the seatbox, not the floor.

On a lot of these old overdrives the synchro units are worn and you have to double de-clutch to engage them. Make sure yours is working before you install a solenoid.

The linkage installation is simple and easy. I just had to cut a small slot in my seat box. I then made a boot from some inner tube to cover/seal the hole.

Check the condition of the teeth on the mainshaft gear - they are often worn as they are not well lubricated.

    Thanks all.

Inc if you have some pics of the Toro setup then I would love to have a copy. I found an exploded parts list for it but no fitting instructions as such.
