    92 rangey - running badly - needs help working it out

    just had forum member ring out ipswich way who has to head back home to tassie tomorrow and his 92 rangie has started playing up

    lack of power, running ragard and when he turns the truck off the charge light stays lit. the charge light goes out when it is running

    any ideas i can pass on to him ?

    Alt failure? What happens if you take alt belt off re running rough?

    Crossfire ? Ground problem for amp module?

    Yea ....
    Tell him to disconnect all the "alternator wires" (isolate the alternator) & see how it behaves .....

    and NO ... don't do the "remove the fan belt" way // ...... Just Disconnect the wires only

    Exciter diode failure will cause this, need a new rectifier.

    Running rough due to fluctuating voltages, mostly over charging.

    Not an easy fix apart from disconnecting alt wiring, but it'll chew batteries

    What part of Tassie are they from?

    The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
