    Auber egt gauge settings

Just put in a egt gauge and went for a spin. Now it counts upwards and when it gets to 200 I get EEEE. Then when it cools down below 200 it's ok until it hits 200. I chaned the setting from F to C so it reads in celcius so that's how far I got. Just wondering how do u set the peak temp when u want the alarm to go off? Also when the car is switch on it reads -0052 just worried about the minus symbol.

    Thanks guys

That seems a bit low mate, readings of 400+ should be the norm, with the alarm set at 720.

    Cheers Baz.

    From the attached document:

Error message. If the meter displays “EEEE”, it indicates the EGT sensor is not connected correctly or is faulty. To confirm the problem, you can short terminal 6 and 7 with a wire. If the meter displays the ambient temperature you can be 100% certain that the problem is due to the sensor.

To get an audible warning, you have to connect a buzzer to terminal 5 as shown in the diagram. They are only a couple of dollars from Jaycar.

As Paul said, you need to wire in a buzzer for an audible alarm (the terminals for this are provided).

They have a built in visual alarm, an led to the right of the display, that should have illuminated when the alarm setting value was reached.

Well that's just it I set the alarm to go off at 220 just to see what it does and I got nothing. Driving around with a cold engine I hit around 375 mark and if I gave it a squirt here and there I just hit 400 when the engine was at operating temp. But yeah nothing on the alarm visable.

So this unit is meant to climb up in digits when driving and when ur off the throttle it goes back down?

It'll go up and down, put your foot down=more fuel up goes the temp, take your foot off=less fuel temp goes down.If it's working properly it should never stay still unless your on a straight at steady speed. Pat
