Mine is a 93 Disco and the original motor was a 3.5L and the previous 93 Disco was also a 3.5L, the 3.9's had 3.9 cast into the top of the plenum chamber, the 3.5's had no numbers just lines, Regards Frank.

Not so - the 3.9 only came out in the last quarter of 93 as the 94MY.

Just put a 3.9 in anyway. It does not matter what it has or had if its not worth keeping. Its a good chance for an upgrade.

Did you see in the engine section of Markets Clive22 has a 3.5 for free. It might get you going for the time being. I think it came out of a 1985 Fender, I don' know the compatablity though.

    No motor yet

No i am going to find a complete running efi motor second hand and just rebuild it myself

If i could find a bigger than 3.5 complete setup to rebuild and bolt in i would do that

The prices i have been quoted from some places make me think that they are on Crack or something

I'd suggest dropping in a new 4.6 bottom end

We replaced the 3.9, rad and other replacables under the bonnet last year. All up including labour cost $6000.
