You only pay duty on thing over $1000 if i remember right

    And its not that much

If you import a complete motor and declare it as say 3000 you screw your self

Better to buy it in pieces send it as separate items and pay no duty

So, you plan to import all that and declare it as less than $1000? I only mentioned the import duty because it IS an extra cost usually. The transfer case alone is over $1000 value thats why I mentioned the 300Tdi example.

That would be illegal so no

I plan on importing several packages on several days from several suppliers

Completely legal less duty than a whole single order

Not wanting to rain on your parade, but don't you think customs might notice all this stuff going to the same address? (there's a hint there if you're smart)

IME if the alarm bells go off in the heads of faceless people stuck in front of a computer all day they will try to make your life more miserable than theirs (if they don't own a LR) just coz they can and it's part of their job.

Try Rovacraft for the LT 230, they are the Australian distributors for Ashcrofts. Mine cost me $1475 from memory plus 60 delivery to Qld.

    Cheers Mick.

Why is it strange that i would buy things from overseas

I'm not trying to rip anyone off its legal and it is the way its done

If you want to buy a $1000 item you pay duty if you dont want to pay duty don't buy things over $1000

    Whats wrong with that
