Fuel Pressure Regulator...
You need a new unit, and a new gasket... I'd suggest giving Rovacraft a call and do it yourself - much cheaper![]()
G'day,
Got myself a 2000 TD5 Defender that has sprung a leak...
I work away up north so the car will sit idle in the driveway for weeks on end. The last stint (including a holiday in Japan) meant that I have only driven it 4km in 8 weeks. Upon starting up and letting her run for 5 minutes, I noticed a leak coming from some pipes in the engine compartment (adjacent to the front right wheel). I thought it was oil but turns out it's diesel! Got to get her serviced but wouldn't mind a heads up as to what it may be...any ideas?
It has been extremely hot in Perth over the last few weeks might be expansion in the fuel line/gaskets worn?
Cheers
Dan

Had it checked out by the lads at Discovery Automotive. Turns out it's the return line that's had it. They still have them on backorder from November! Anyone know where I can get one?
The moment i red this threads heading i thought it would be a return line as i had the same problem. I just cut some spare line to length and put it in 6months ago and have had no problems to date![]()
Update - contrary to initial investigations, it is the short line that runs from the back of the engine block into the fuel cooler. It's coming from the clip itself so 'have it get the whole thing replaced.
Certainly a lot cheaper than getting the other return line replaced!
Is it easy to fit yourself??
