range rover to discovery diff swap

hi all
will a diff from a range rover ( say 83 to 96 ) fit onto my 94 disco, and does the ratio from petrol to diesel matter

94 is a change over year, you need to know whether it has 10 or 24 spline axles, the RR will be 10 spline till 93

All are 3.54:1 ratios from factory

And to add 95/96 rangie is a P38 hence completely different and diff wont fit .

There's also a difference in driveshaft flange. Later disco rears used a three bolt to rubber donut vs the rangie four bolt flange.
