    All looking good Ben.
What MIG did you pick up?
Those gauges are the older style as opposed to CANBUS. Will be interesting to see how you wire them?
Did they give you a rigging guide? The efi60 is prewired for the CANBUS gauges and you would have to hack the harness to use the older style gauges, I assume the new 70 has the plugs for both now?
Water trap will be fine. I change my external filter every 50 hrs and the onboard filter/water alarm filter every 100. The 60 has nearly a 1litre VST capacity before the injector rail. You will be pretty sick of the water alarm before a litre of water fills the VST and buggers the injectors!

With regards to scuppers, i wouldnt have an open dory without a draining deck. The day you shouldnt be out is the exact reason you NEED to shed water fast. Also the amount of water you bring in diving, means you will never have a dry boat anyway! The best scuppers i have found are the same design used by surf boats. Hot gluein two 50mm tubes about 100mm out the back of the transom level with you floor. Drill a 50mm hole for em first. Now make up a pair of long shoots about 300mm long out of vinyl, sew along the long edges so they are a flat tube. Cable tie one end around the al tube, internal water pressure will force the tube open but minimal water will come in even if the tubes are below water level. Ill flick photoes when i get home next week.

Your use of fixed foam sheets will work well, i look forward to the pictures!

CIG Transmig 215se. There was one going cheap locally that has done about 0.5 hrs work in its life.

Ah, OK. I am not sure if the dealer was familiar with the CANBUS gauges - he didn't know the term, and he said they are the ones they sell with all non-tiller outboards. They have fitted the power loom for the gauges. There is a 4-pin plug inside the motor housing that I need to connect up to. Will post pics.

I take it you are talking about the "duckbill"-type scuppers? Diagrams are always good!

    Hey Ben
Im on the water again this weekend
Aaron40 asked me to come down to his beach shack at Dunsborogh to christen a new beach rod.
Going better, taking the boat to try and get a Dhuie/Snapper or anything else yummie before the west coast demersal closure next week.
Thankfully I will still be able to hunt them on the South Coast.

duckbill sounds like an apprpriate term for the idea. Zodiak wanted nearly a zillion bucks for a pair of their rubber shoots, so i stitched some up out of vinyl. Still going strong 5 ish years later.

With the gauges, lokks like the mob have hacked into the harness for you! Saves the stress! The gauges will be easy plug and play sounds good, just means you dont have the option for efi fuel flow / distance to empty etc etc.

Will email you when i get back.

Not much progress to speak of - been too busy at work - weekends included!

I did swap the MIG over to ally - to do some welding for work unfortunately - and I am amazed how nicely it welds. Much better than the Kemppi I have used for alloy welding in the past. I suppose it helps that this beast is practically new.

I did buy some 5083 for an anchor well etc when I was buying stuff for work...

Does anyone have any pics of seat (pedestal?) mounting plates welded into an alloy boat?

I had 4 plates welded in and then bolted 4 pedestals bases down,,
The idea was with only 2 on board, there was movable seating depending on the sun.

12 months later had to weld the bases onto the plates due to movement and immenant failure,,
