    some cod pics

Me and my fishing buddy went up to our "secret spot" on the weekend for 2 days of chasing our favorite native species and landed these 2 lovely specimens. Actually landed more but these were the 2 biggest. All released back to fight another day.

I absolutely love Murray cod (not just to eat) they have those puppy dog eyes. They are so prolific in our waterways now that I catch more cod than carp. 20 years ago it was 30 carp to 1 cod on a typical weekend. Now just gotta hook a 50+ pnder

Nice pair of cod, Aussie. When I was a youngster my uncle and I used to catch the odd Cod in the Condamine River near Dalby in Qld. I still remember how tasty they were.

Are they still caught there? I'd be interested to know if they are declining. One thing I have noticed is the cod are much fattier and healthier at my secret spot than the ones I usually catch in the Murray. Good to see my fishing licence fee hard at work.

Nice fish. What did you catch them on? Lures or bait?

Caught some nice ones way out in western NSW in the Birrie Culgoa and Darling Rivers but the carp out number them 100 to 1.

This was a lazy afternoon at Louth last year. we gave up and went to Shindy's for a beer as this was all you could catch
