Can post up a pic of your purchase so I can have an eye full? I have wanted to do my own sinkers for ages now, but dont really have the equipment for it,, although I had a mate who just melted his in a saucepan on his camp stove.
Another mate had a little crucival to put on the fire when we went camping,, he used to make spoon sinkers.

Oh,, almost forgot, you can buy lead from most hardware stores I think, I'm sure I've seen it at Bunnings too. Dont know about any licence though,, plumbers maybe?

Im not interested in batteries,I can get HEAPS of them.
It is not a nice job melting lead,trying to make it as less hassle as possible.

How much fishing do you do to make it worth making your own sinkers? I wish I did that much!

Bunning do sell rolls of flashing. But would be less economical viable.

MUCH CHEAPER and LOVE DIY
When drifting over a reef you CAN loose a sinker every drift.

I'd take up diving and spend one day a month collecting them.
