Don't know of any difference in guides for salt water.

I have built a couple of rods on Snyder blanks and they are fantastic.

Make sure you do a bit of reading on the correct way to do the bindings. I have a magazine here, The Australian Rod Crafter, that gives all the information you need to know. Can send it to you if you like.

Do you know what blank it is ? If it is a cr4136mt (not sure if I got that right) they are an excellent light surf rod for Bribie.

Go see the guys at Bribie Sports and Cycles, they should be able to sell you the right bits.

They also sell the best preserved worms, work as well as live ones and if you don't use them just chuck them in the freezer for next time.

i love this particular blank. it is the second one of these i have owned and by far the best estuary rod i have used.

just bought a shimano symetre 4000fl to use with it (for which i will get a right royal ear bashing)

but i have two grandsons i need to try and outfish over the next few years so need to start getting ready

i like the alvey reels and own a few but not on this rod, much prefer an egg beater on it.

i lived over the road from the bribie bridge in the old gaychris units for two years and lost count of the hours and feeds i have caught there.

got torn up there many a time as well.

pretty sure i bought this rod at that shop

I saw a thread on a fishing website about a bloke doing up and old Snyderglass beach rod.He got quite a lot of grief from those who like modern stuff.
He simply said,I love the rod,I have caught heaps of fish with it and want to make it as good as new.
I won a small carbon fibre rod and reel with braid, really love fishing with it,you feel every single bite,no matter how small.
Rebuild the oldie, worth keeping for old times sake.
I still run a reel I bougth when I was 18,many older fishos see it and say they were the best reel you could get when new,and were surprised I still use it.Still goes like new 19 years later, and its caught many a good fish.Shakespheare Sigma 080.
