Awww Brian, what you keep them poor baby reds for
You really will have to come north some time!!!!
We went out last weekend and got amongst em too. Best reddie went 84cm and 10kg!!!!

I thought you were selling the cat? I see you decided to keep her... I am eyeing off a big cat for sale at the moment. 33ish feet, full cabin big deck - old and needs a repower. My evil plan is to rip off the pods and outboards and put it back to shaft drive (original configuration). If the seller drops the price to its realistic value Id just have to go for it - and then find a pair of 4BD1s

G'day Steve, Surprisingly both the reds in the pictures were over 55cm, I think one was 59 and the other 57. As usual dropped a few big ones, the 4 of us had a simultaneous hook up and only 1 got to the boat. The other 3 rubbed through the leaders. The fish particularly the reds weren't biting properly that weekend sort of just sucking the bait. If you hit too early you would miss and when you let them go long enough to hook them they had it down in their stomachs and gave the leaders hell on the way up. Even the big trout were hard to find. But we all got a good feed (63 keepers for the 4 of us for a day/nights fishing.
Still have the cat, keep saying I am going to sell it but it hasnt happened yet, maybe late next year. It goes so well I will really hate parting with it. But I am not getting any younger so it will happen one day. Would love to come up that way for a bit of reef fishing, my rig would be great up there where the reef is so close (and the reds are big and hungry) but it's a bit big to tow that far. A 33 footer would be great for overnighters and when the southerlies come up, as you say a couple of 4BD1T's would be excellent on the back. The cats are an awesome fishing platform.
    Cheers......Brian

Stacer is a damn fine boat. The one my mate has is a 5.75 Ocean Runner Sports and we have been out in really foul conditions and while tin boats bounce a bit it handles the rough well.

Am in the market for a new boat myself to replace the old 16 foot Quintrex fishabout I have had for the past 20 years. Want to get a boat for outside work and am toying up with a Stacer myself so I will be keen to hear your report on the new tub.
