    Dinghy

Just restored dinghy for father and on brand new trailer.....

Neighbour left off handbrake and car rolled accross Rd, over bins and rolled boat on trailer which lifted car off ground 1 m. Car remained suspended in air...

Neighbour, schoolteacher, built ramp with Bessel blocks?? To hold car up and then got under and cut away bins with angle grinder. Then- yes then drove car down ramp.

Boat was permanently deformed and stem and 2 planks were broken. It took me 60 hours to repair.

Just like the AAMI ADD. and they would only pay for 20 hours labour.

    Regards.

    Our boat

We have had our Quintrex 610 for about a year now. Its our first foray into boating and we love it.

Boat is a 2003 model and has been around a bit (Newcastle NSW, NW WA, then down to SW WA with previous owners) and has a few bumps and scrapes, but that means I am less precious about any new bumps etc.

With a 150 Yami, it can get up and move when needed, great for towing the kids on a biscuit. Lots of room for fishing or entertaining.

It was probably a bit bigger than I was initially looking for, but it came up locally at a good price and the extra length and high freeboard gives me some security should we get caught in some lumpy weather that can blow up on the west coast with little warning.

    Cheers,

Is that sticky tape I see on the rear bumper?

A blemish on an otherwise gorgeous, albeit dirty car Looks just like my old girl,,,, I do miss her so

I'm thinking I'll have to join the fray with a couple of pics of mine behind the Defer,,, a before and after shot. She's been sitting idle for almost four years now I think
Maybe I can get a day or two in on her over the coming break to clean her up, get some new juice,, see if I can start her even maybe.

Any tips on a start-up after sitting for so long out of water? Up at home in Albury, I used to keep the Prop in a garbage bucket with water covering it.

6.2 mtr Haines sigiture with mercrusier and chev bent 8.
It is a does everything thing boat.
Can Ski behind it, fish and and will sleep 4.
most important it has a 110 litre fridge.
    220 litre fuel tank
I have owned it for more than 10 years now.
Only has 220 hrs on the hour meter,
metho stove, fresh water system, sink, toilet, sound system, depth sounder,I built the deck on it, twin batteries, 240volt inverter ,etc
Its getting on a bit in age , but still can keep its own.
Will do displacement speed all day and use very little fuel, but when you need speed it will deliver enough to keep most others in check but at a cost to the hip pocket.......but some times its worth it.

Our Savage Envoy with a 40hp Parsun 2 stroke.

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1387283943.453002.jpg

Bought the boat last year with a running Johnson 50hp but upon launching we discovered it would cut out when shifted into drive (ran ok out of water). Had it tested and tuned but the mechanic said he wouldn't guarantee it and recommended a new motor.. Next test saw us in the middle of the river with a shot motor and a puddle of premix around the boat.

Ended up getting a brand new Parsun - great motor so far!

Did some work on her - been fun. Wouldn't mind upgrading to something around 5-5.5m but will have to see.
