Sludge from Tappet Cover Breather
Hi Guys,
I am now the owner of the engine referred to in this thread:
oil breather line out of rocker cover
I bought the engine when def-90 fitted a V8. Anyway, as suggested a catch can was fitted to the breather closest to the front of the engine. This was before I bought it. Tonight I emptied it (for the first time in quite a while) and found it had about 300ml of mainly water in it, with a bit of mayo-like sludge the same as you often find with a blown head gasket.
I've got no reason to suspect a blown head gasket and I suspect the water has built up over a while from condensation, especially as I do a lot of short trips to the train station. I was wondering whether anyone else has seen this, or has any other ideas as to what's causing it?
