Was thinking of going ahead and buying sight unseen, organising freight to the east coast but decided against it.
Rang the bloke- it has what appears to be 4BD1 T (he can't confirm with certainty- but looks like the item) with cruiser five speed & transfer, freewheel hubs on front axle. Sump arrangement is unclear- vendor claims that it has no 'wings'. Vehicle isn't lifted, no extended bump stops. Twin oil filter has the primary filter blocked off - the bypass is still there. Apparently the primary was fouling the front prop shaft. 6 or 7 litre crankcase oil capacity reported so this is def shy of standard. 300tdi radiator and intercooler.
All in all a bit dicey to go ahead sight unseen-something I would regret I think. Hate the idea of a cruiser box and transfer as well. Vendor claims it's 12 volt setup with isuzu bellhousing modified at one end to take the box. Propshafts original length(s). Hilux starter.
Fixed alloy intercooler to manifold pipe looks awkward- I imagine that vibration would be an issue with that length of pipe reaching that distance- looks without stays of any kind but can't tell really. Unclear about air filter arrangement.
I guess its interesting in terms of what someone came up with solution wise to some of the issues in a conversion of this sort.
