Very nice find.

Here's a great example! (wink wink) If the miles are accurate it would be a great 120 project! "Barn find" maybe. Either way I think its asking waaaaay to much.

Cheers,

Definitely a Stage 1, probably a very good buy. Coming from there, likely to be pretty rust free.

There are comments about this vehicle in another thread with pics of the engine. It's not a turbo- doesn't even have one fitted. It has a 4BD1T top cover- but single canister/cartridge oil filter and normal looking exhaust flange (non turbo). The fellow selling it has been informed but persists in listing it as a turbo...
Stage 1's weren't turbo'd.
He also lists it as a Defender, which it definitely is not.
Due diligence would reveal these things. Despite all this, as a Stage 1 Isuzu, it is an excellent project. I would love to get it myself.
Oh, which thread has pics of the motor?

I agree- it looks dusty and strong to me- would come up a treat. The guy selling it is a bit of a fast talker, is kind-of helpful up to a point. I don't know what the story is with it's top cover, but stage one's don't have the metal top cover usually (unless someone puts it there like I have done to try and quiet the bloody thing down a bit). Having just sold my last stage one 3.9 and now driving a 130 300TDi I'd have to say how civilised the little 300 is in comparison- and all that weight over the front axle (in the 4BD1 powered vehicles) is sure noticeable (when it aint there). Still, I'd swap at the drop of a hat given opportunity. Presently chasing up a 4BD1t/MSA 5G combination for fit later on down the line.
Saw this on Gumtree. The price looks right.
