It is a very nice looking vehicle, but, I doubt it is a Perentie.
It looks to be one of the civy 6x6 Landrovers which is still desirable.

Definitely not a perentie (no wide body / fibreglass roof), but a very nice truck. Not quite as well set up for touring as LieutenentRover's 6x6 IMHO, but in some aspects even more versatile with a 5 seater dual cab & a still massive tray - one of very few 6x6's I've seen in top condition. I'm somewhat puzzled by the "WIDE TRACK FRONT AXLE WITH PROVISION FOR MAXI DRIVE DIFF LOCK" - anyone know what that's about?

You'd prefer a civvy spec to your Perentie?

I'll swap...mine has a rebuilt gearbox now so much better than last time I offered to swap it...

James_J has posted his 1991 county on here. This is the same one that was owned by D3Jon. It is one of the best and most original examples I have seen.

Saw this on eBay today. Low starting price, but looks like it might be a lot of work. Could be worth a look though.

This one just ended again, I think it looks ok so I asked a few questions. That is a new crossmember in th chassis, what looks like rust in the bulkhead in the engine bay is where there 'was' sound deadening and it's glue.

What do you guys think? I can't get the videos of it running but I asked him to email me more photos and the videos. I think the price is a bit steep, and although the Isuzu motor is reliable I bet they are sluggish. Would have to drive it from there to hunter valley Nsw! Big trust in something that I don't know

Would be nice to fix her up a bit, give that tired motor a tickle and a turbo. New bucket seats etc. etc

Jonno.....that one has been advertised for quite a few months...

I know a guy who was looking for one and he asked the vendor by ebay email to supply VIN etc for checking and this was refused, when asked to supply a phone number to enable discussion this was also refused.

    Draw your own conclusions....

If you can get a better response that you are happy with then you can take a chance if you want to - nothing wrong with making a lower offer....

Since he started trying to sell it there have been good ones available that have sold and there will be good ones available in future.....

For some reason QLD rego of vehicles of that area is quite variable, in some cases they use a rego no for a VIN, in others they will use an engine no - the problem really arises when you bring it to NSW and attempt to re-register it - have a talk on the phone to the technical people at the RTA about registering vehicles previously registered in QLD (they are quite happy to tell you all about it)
