The ridiculous prices the military ones have been selling for seem to have driven the prices up...

However 4BD1 powered landies have consistently been selling for more than early tdis for a few years now as they are more desirable.

The lowest I have seen them sell for is ~$2500 (one with a cooked motor and one a very early mil prototype full of rust). Others around 5-6k but they have all needed a lot of tidy-up work.

If you want a cheap one, expect to put a lot of work in getting it up to scratch. Good ones will hold their value (or increase in value) till internal combustion engines are banned or diesel runs out.
Mine has a fair wreck of a body but I wouldn't let it go for under 9 grand, and if I bought another I wouldn't sneeze at 12k+ for a decent one.

Some went at auction for realistic prices tho some were brought by dealers hoping to cash in and make stupid profit like the wagon that went for 18 grand at auction and is now sitting in a yard in QLD for 26 grand bit over the top IMHO

When i brought mine i got it for a good price and being a modified with paper work for all the mods it was something i could not pass on .

Mine is an 85 which has had the cab cut down to a dual cab and the chassis extended to 135 inch wheel base so basicly its a 130 tho the cab is a tad different the chassis is a lot different and its 8 inches longer between wheel centers .

I had been looking for a 130 under 10k that wasent a POS but there were none about and then this come up at the right time and the money was good so i did the deal now ive had it 3.5 years its about to undergo a major refit as the gearbox packed it in a while back so the saga begins

Mine is in a very decent condition and I haven't even had an enquiry at 12k so I'm wondering if the market has softened a little with all the extra army ones available. Considering usually there are only 3-4 drivable cars advertised around the country...

Fwiw Scott if I didn't already have one I'd be on my way to your place with 12 large in my pocket. The price difference between a cheap one and an expensive one isn't enough to warrant going cheap and doing repairs.

Luckily I'm very busy at the moment otherwise I'd probably do something stupid, like bolting the turbo on

looks like a reasonable price? Working on selling my ol' toyota crown and sinking some of the money into this thing, actually.

Heaps of army ones including 6x6 for sale on Grays online, no reserve auction. Had a quick look, some are incomplete/ not going, might go cheap. Best to have a proper look in person before auction ends. Heap of unimogs and trailers and other good stuff too. If only I had spare cash...
