its a standard item, no you cant usually get just the splined side.
The front of the rear prop shaft has failed and caused some damage to the yoke. Looking at it closer the uni joint did not have the retaining clips in it and the caps had moved outwards, I'm starting to think it was never installed properly but as I'm new to this I'm assuming the uni is the same as many others and the circlips go on the outside.
So questions, replacing the uni is fine but as there is damage to the spline yoke and it has some gouges in it is it possible to replace the shaft spline as well without the whole prop shaft? I could probably work this out by looking at it but the vehicle is not with me currently.
Does anyone know if the rear prop shaft on the perentie is strengthened at all? It looks quite beefy and this could cause problems if it needs replacing.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Prop shaft can be rebuilt, but it may be cheaper to get a new one - shop around.
I am guessing that the circlip (outside) was not installed properly.

The Perentie 4X4 rear tailshaft, part number AYG4281, has a larger tube diameter than the standard County rear shaft, but they are interchangeable. If it is only the yoke/flange that is damaged, this can be replaced, part number is HYL8667. The unis are a cheap fix, go to a bearing shop and ask for K5-13XR uni joint (front and rear) about $10 each. As long as the slip joint is ok it could be a cheap fix. If you need a yoke/flange give Bill Anderson a call at 0741241885, I know he had quite a few spare ex army flanges in stock, but that was a couple of years ago. Probably will still have some as they are not a common problem.

Hi All,
I have an Ex AUS Army LR. From the parts book, AYG4281 is the front prop shaft not the back. Mine is rusted out where the sliding joint is. I found Driveline components in Newcastle very helpful and they can supply these. They have also helped me out with all the winch driveline parts. Very helpful people and they make them up locally.
Contact Anthony Scott 02 4949 1500 or email anthonys@driveline.com.au
Cheers
Bill
