110 county broken axles and cv

hey i was just wondering if anyone else has had the problem of beaking axles and cv's in the front of there county? as i have

and i was also woundering if anyone knows were i would find second hand cv's ???

It's not unusual, especially for those running larger / meatier tires.

There are a few options for stronger upgrades (ashcrofts / hytuff etc - both $$$$) but on the plus side that means that there could be some second hand ones around.

Post a wanted add in the markets section, I've seem some on ebay recently too.

I have recently upgraded one to a D1 24spline ARB centre, and HyTuff inner axles. The AEU2522 CV's are quite good, they need good lube and maintenance (Clean water free oil for example) but suffer from fatigue over the years like anything else. I Would replace the centre and inner axles and fit new AEU2522CV's. UNLESS you are abusive and/ or runing 37" tyres with 400HP on tap then all should be well...

what do you's think of maxi drive axles, iv'e gotten some and some nice and heavy drive flanges. and they where not that expensive they were 250 per axle and i think 130 per drive flange.

yeh i am running 35'' tyres and air lockers. so that might of did it

With the aussie dollar good on the yankie dollar ya mad not goin for the new rover tracks longs .
Ive gone this way for both the front of the county and the rangie and to make the county bullet proof ive gone to the 35 spline inch and a half dia dana rear with ARB air locker same set up my brother (cal415) has done in his county in the build up section im over fixing broken rover crud diffs

Rover Parts plus is now selling KAM lockers, although they dont do 1 for the salisbury. Hytuff or MD engineering is supposed to be making the maxidrive again, I cant remember which company purchased the difflock tooling off Mal Storey. You can also get the Detroit True Track for around $1000. It is basically the same as the Quaife diff as used by formula 1 cars. When a wheel looses traction the power is sent to the other wheel.
