When the boge pumps up its like putting an imovable post in the middle and the soft suspension allowin the body to roll either side. It would have been a much bettre design with 2 boge units helping support the rear. Heavy duty springs and a moderate rate shocker is the answer to body roll. But dont forget to do both ends or else the front will try to dig in as you corner. I have used heavy duty springs on many rangy's and landy's and not had a problem with loss of travel in hard bush work
All true but its not as bad as it sounds, the Bogie unit is not like an immovable post. It actually moves about quite a bit, if it didn’t it wouldn’t be able to pump up. personally when all loaded up ( family) and 2 32" wheels , tent and solar panels on the roof there is little difference in the body roll. on the other hand I have the most comfortable ride both on and more importantly off road. I have followed many defenders of latter years only to see there jacked up bums bounce over obstacles where i just keep on rolling or gliding on. Great when you spend a couple of days cutting though stock routes.

you would think that some 4wd company would of made an aftermarket boge unit to suit a car with a suspension lift? it would really sell.

i was googleing the boge unit and some bloke had modified it himself so that a coil spring from a mazda 323 when in place of the boge unit !

and i have ordered the ball joint from british 4wd non greasable for 60 bucks, they said it is a good quality one and it wont were out for a log time . so i hope the old one will come out eassy, or i'll just have to use the 80 ton press at work, that will surely get it ! haha

Dude look at your springs and shocks, a boge leveller won't help, a Boag draught might. Get some poly bags, even some tennis balls. Get your jubbly bits stiff.

more importantly, are you coming on the defender day out?

i cannot help you with suspension stuff so i reckon just drive it because with a 4" lift i doubt you will get perfect on road handling

there will be lots of defender owners on the trip so you can compare notes
