Towed a Camry on a car trailer back from the east coast today, upstream temps on hills, (and there are a few long steep ones,) didn't exceed 540, and regularly saw 100+km/h in top gear (2100rpm) on the flat at 380 to 440. This is with my 'conservative' 'fuel map':D With a small spanner and flat blade screwdriver , in a few seconds I can dial in another 15 to 20% more torque, and still not see more than 650. Most I have ever seen is 690, and at that fuel setting it is transmission and clutch destroying. (It ate up 3 Autos this way:()
There is NO WAY a Tdi, however tweaked, will equal the job my Suzi did today:)

I have no idea which twin turbo V12 you're talking about, but any factory engine worth that much will have the expected readings of every sensor mapped out. So compare what the probe in the dump pipe says with what it should say and that's all it needs to know.Quote:

As I have said before I run an Isuzu with a TD5 turbo etc etc. Now I also run an R380 box like most TDi's do.
Yes the turbo is a bit small, but it is superb off road, spools up instantly etc etc.
As a comparison on a club trip our set up with camper in tow would eat a very similar set up on a D2 TD5 up hills etc.
Now ours tops out around 125km/h but its set up this way.
pre turbo EGT is far more accurate as everyone has said.

We currently run 15psi 400 x 400 x 75 top mount IC. 600 -630 max temp on load. Running 35" tyres through 4:11 diffs R380 is a V8 box of coarse very similar motorway egt's as JustinC
