    What now?

After alot of discussion about tdi's vs isuzu engines I hav finally finished my turbo instal which I will put up a build thread later consisting of other mods to the county that I have done.have to say I was wrong when I said I can't see the isuzu going good power wise but even though it is better than it used to be it still comes nowhere near the power of the 300tdi before I completely rule it out because no it has not been for a full test run for an extended period of time but it does hav a turbo yes it is boosting it also has an intercooler that is the size of the radiator(huge) boost guage is at inlet manifold reading 14psi boost when giving it a boot full , egt guage installed due to fuel being turned up but is still no world beater like they r cracked up to be any suggestions ?

What turbo?, and what EGTs are you running full boot going up a steep hill (pre or post turbo?).

14 psi isn't much. Turn the boost up to 17psi (same as the 300Tdi) - assuming you have a suitable turbo - and turn the fuel up so you are getting 700+oC pre turbo flat to the floor going up hill.

Then if it doesn't waste a 300Tdi there is something wrong with your engine.

GT20xx is probably a bit small for the 4BD1. GT22xx would probably have been a better choice.

Anyone who knows what they are talking about will tell you pre turbo is best. Isuzu max EGT spec is 750oC pre turbo. Your reading will be 200oC+/-50oC less. So turn the fuel up till you get 500oC driving up a steep hill.

I fund it amusing that after ages of bitching about your NA 4BD1 being slow, you (finally) do a turbo conversion, using a butchered stock manifold, then jump on here and winge about the lack of power before you have the EGT hooked up or the fuelling adjusted properly.

Does it really matter what sort of manifold it is considering at the intake manifold there is 14psi I dont think so ! No need to get all defensive I was just stating the finds so in the end if it dont perform its all good I have my new puma that will have more horsepower anyways

Another question well if egt's r supposed to be measured from before the turbo why do almost all twin turbo v12 engines take egt readings after the turbo taking in mind some of these engines are into the hundereds of thousands of dollars worth ?
