    Comp truck isuzu?

Hey guys just a quick thought about the isuzu again.
After talking to a guy at tamworth a few weeks back who was working on a tuff truck nissan patrol with all the works (huge hydraulic coilover shocks , rear steer , 49" tyres etc etc) I asked him what engine he is running and he said to my surprise the nissan patrol 4.2td he said they got it straight from nissan for only $7k which seems extremely cheap, but then I asked him what engine mods hav been done and he said upgraded to a ball bearing turbo and running 30psi boost I then asked about egt's his reply was "lets say they are getting up there but its only getting used for an hour at a time and will only be at full throttle for short periods" so my thoughts were seeing as the isuzu is as strong as the patrol would it be worth giving the isuzu a run at say between 20-30psi with intercooler and fuel turned up while still keeping an eye on egt's and not giving it hell to save driveline damage would it hold up for a test run or will it go bang?

And have a look at his thread on here - Cummins 4BT & Diesel Conversions Forums

One real advantage to the nissan TD42 is that it revs higher. Some of those guys are running them to 5,000rpm.
Sure Randy (with the supercharged/turbocharged 4BD1T in the states) runs his to ridiculous revs but he had 3 layers of dynamat sound proofing in his last one.

Not enough info on the web, see most here are spinning their TD42's to 6,500rpms for comp work

A 4BD1 simply isn't going to be flexible enough in its rev range, that's its huge downfall in the muddy stuff, just not enough rev's to jag the next gear
