If it was me, the next thing I'd do would be to T a piece of clear hose into the drain, and hold it up vertically. If you've still got a drainage issue then you are going to see the hose filling up.
If you haven't, then since you've got no leakage on the compressor side just put it all together and take it for a drive and see what its like after a bit of a run when everything has a chance to settle down and the oil's hot etc.

 I thought it was the normal amount of play for a bush turbo but all it needed was a pull down and adjustment while I was at it I put a new bush and seal kit in it and adjusted correctly and woola
