Bugger, more work. On a n/a motor it plumbs straight into the inlet just before the inlet manifold, can't do this now due to the boost levels.
Who wants to make me up a 1" stainless pipe with an 8mm barb in it![]()
Stainless has more 'bling' factor![]()
I don't see why you can't block the top one off? The 'T' only has one. Why would it matter which one? As long as it's big enough, which the side cover one is huge. Bigger than the 'T' one right....
The 4he1t has a plastic box about 80mm square above the gear case with 3 hoses one 16mm from the gear cover .A 18mm which is a road draft and a 12mm which goes to the front of the injection pump .I have no idea how it works but it does work well .Odd motor ECU - EGR and a road draft

I have teed the 8 mm outlet from the cover to the intake preturbo
I assume what you are calling a "road draft" is an open vent system (in industry they call it OCV vs CCV (Closed crankcase ventilation)).
Heavy vehicles were allowed to retain OCV much longer, as the industry was heavily opposed to CCV, since the soot and ash in the oil slowly destroys turbochargers. Some "off-highway" diesel still come new with OCV.
This is a bad idea if you want to maximise turbo life (see above).
I have never seen an engine without a tappet cover breather, yet many don't have a lower crankcase breather. It may just be to maximise settling (separation) of oil mist before the gases get to the tappet cover.
So ben, landy86 should have plumbed it into the provent first, then the provent runs to the pre turbo intake??

I just checked your DOB assuming it was an age or WA thingIn days of old before CCV we had road draft systems junior
