I've had a S2, RRC and now a D2 and never blown a axle or diff. My old mans S3 did over a million and only one axle and diff. And that was after running for 3 days on 2WD through mud from charleville to birdsville.
I've seen then where they almost had to be screwed out of the diff. Gently on the left foot, I can't afford to replace stuff as it wasn't strong enough to drive up flat out. I'm sure we all can't.
I dunno what the previous owner did with my landy and how he drove it before I bought it, but a turbo isuzu has alot of torque and if he/she was a bit viscious with both feet on the pedals I'm surprised it did not break earlier!!! When I stripped the front end it still had genuine gaskets on yhe swivels and diff centre and they had been there along time.
