Oil in the vacuum line
G'Day guys and gals
Murphy strikes those that are tired and dumb, I felt like the former while working, now I feel like the later, I had a blonde moment while putting the alternators on and hooked up the oil and vacuum lines on the back of the alternator to the wrong posts, not good I now have oil to clean up inside the Rangie after it came out the diff lock switch and got made a bit of a mess on the carpet.
What I wish to know is if the oil in the vacuum line has damaged anything else, I didn't have a drive I only idled long enough to get the coolant levels right then while looking around I notice frothy oil flowing over the cross member.

The oil drain (where you had the pump vacuum hooked up to) is above the sump oil level, so dont think that wouldn't have caused any problems - just sucked some fumes out of the sump.
With the vacuum pipes on the car - since the CDL actuator on the transfer would have already been in the appropriate position, I doubt that much oil would have pushed down into that as the air in the lines would have resisted it going all the way down.
The one that's currently in my 110 was half full of what seemed like petrol when I got it, so I'm guessing the diaphragms handle a bit of petroluem OK (and also the rubber bits in the switch).
My biggest concern would be that maybe the oil has gone into the brake booster though.

Good news, no oil got to the brake booster, I removed the vacuum lines last night after getting home and found no oil on the end that came off the booster, the vacuum switch for the diff lock blew it's line when under pressure and the oil went the easy route out.
If we can get back early enough Today I'll get the compressor out and blew oil out of the lines.
