A LROCV member has a Salisbury in a SWB, I would say its a S3 body grafted on to a Rangie chassis ( modified) though. It has a Chev 350.

The problem is the length of the transmission, what you are suggesting is a SIII stage 1 Isuzu with everything pushed to the rear. To retain the classic Series grill you would need to remove the cross member immediately behind the gearbox and shorten the rear tailshaft and lengthen the front, This will likely require increasing the transmission hump in the front. The front prop shaft will require that you also move or remove the cross-member under the flywheel. If you already have a SIII with a removable gearbox cross member, you end up with a very long space from the front cross-member to the cross-member just in front of the rear diff. Then you need to fit a CV joint front end for the C4WD LT95.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi All

As far as i am aware the one in Darwin is registered as a series 2a swb is a turbo 4bd1 with a short r380 and a salisbury on a 90 chassis and it rides quite well, if you want some details maybe you should give Larns a pm

    Regards Mark

    Def90 on here used to own a 90 with 4BD1T, R380, LT230 and rover diffs F-R.

It would certainly be possible to fit the same to an 88"

I wouldn't fit a sals. Hilux or 60 series axles would be a good option for an 88" IMHO.

As mentioned, the whole driveline would need replacing.

This Series 3 has an Isuzu 4BD1 mated to a series 3 gearbox, this is the second one I have seen. The front keeps it's original look too.
