    Is this worth putting in?

My Perenetie GS came with a cardboard box in the back. Inside it was a turbo that the previous owner was going to install.

It came with a manifold, a few pipes (not sure if they fit) bango's, gaskets, half finished dump pipe adaptor and SAAS ETG.... almost there!

    Compressor is Garrett A/R 80 M24 (T25g I think)
    Turbine is Garret R64

Is this worth putting in, is to too big and what sort of performance would it produce?

I'm just looking for a bit more juice from the old girl, especially on the hills so I don't have to change down so much.

Turbos that work on a 4BD1.

I’ve never understood the markings on Garrett turbos. I would take it to a shop to see what they say.

If it’s the T25 fitted to the Perentie 6x6 then you should know many people have upgraded these.

T28 size (or T3 which can be broadly similar other than flange size - there’s lots of variation within T3) generally seems a better turbo for these motors.

    some hopefully useful information

I know this is probably not exactly helpful to answer question "Turbos that work on a 4BD1.", so I apologise, but I would just like to share some information I gathered when doing research for which turbo to choose, I haven't found a more suitable place for it.
This information is gathered from the Internet, so may not be 100% accurate.

    Nice chart.

A few of us run the TD04HL-19T including myself. I have the waste gate wired shut. Usual driving up through the gears I hit 18-20 psi. Can easy get low 20's pushing it up a hill. It builds pressure quite fast at low revs, so lag is not an issue. I would certainly buy this size again if I needed a new turbo.

I get up to 25 psi out of my T28R, with wastegate de-activated.

Just me being a smart-arse. I can't really comment about the actual turbo, I don't know enough about them. As to turbo-ing the beastie I can't say I've heard to many arguments against it other than overdoing things and breaking the gearbox.

    99' 130 CC

Make: Holset 'Churbo' (One of the red units sold on ebay a while back, mine got cleaned up before sale but there was still small flecks of red on it.)
    Model: HX30W
    A/R: Don't know
    Original: 99' Td5/R380 etc
Comments: Hits 22psi, 3" IC with 2.5" pipes, 3" mandrel with straight through hot dog, a little laggy and rolling coal between 2nd to 3rd if I'm not careful.... suspect I'll get a notice from the EPA if I drive it through city areas too often. Fresh reco'd IP and fuel turned up. It's ok but I'd prefer to have more torque down low like the KLR units have (I drove one last year). Will pull quite well in 5th (MSA-5R) at 110 on any highway hill, if it drops below 100 when loaded up it can struggle to pick up again (235/85/16, stock diffs & 1.2 in the T/case)
