I have Brett, the most of them aren't overdrive trans, OR all electronic, which is why I am thinking along the A442F etc.
I still have all my Isuzu to ZF adapter kit so I am thinking of utilising the crank spigot adapter at least for the converter, and just getting new ring made up to match bolt pattern.
(Edit, actually NOT the site I was thinking of, but most of the trans he lists are electronic, and IIRC the TH7004 isn't rated very well behind a 4BD1 for torsional fibration damage...)

Made by Aisin, but best known for fitting inside landcruisers. A variation is used on the 4H powered Isuzu trucks.
Just in case you needed to feel better about using a Toyota part.
Randy who owns Isuzudieselswapper.com has that compound turbo 4BD1TT that we all talk about occasionally. Unfortunately his life went pear shaped last year and he hasn't been online since. Still making adapter kits though, a 4BTswaps member received his the other week.
Randy has a good handle on which autos will work. One of the lads on Pirate also found a 6 speed auto with what looks like enough clearance for an LT230. Can't recall the name or model though.

Well, got some good news, and some bad
The bad news is that the A442 hydraulic control trans is the best one for the job, and is so rare that they were only available for 1.5 years here in OZ in the 80 series, and consequently IF you can find one they are big $$$$$$.
The good news is that yes all will be fine and dandy with coping with the Isuzu characteristics, and torque. I will have to fit an upgraded torque converter and a 3rd lock up modified valve body (All up about $1500 for both exchange) and I will then obviously have to make adapters to LT230 and engine.
STILL interested but I'll be just searching around for a suitable trans over a period of time, good thing I am not in a hurry
I CAN use the earlier A440, a little bit weaker apparently but adequate according to Wholesale Autos tech fellow I spoke to today, he did mention that MOST of these would be topping out at about 750,000km by now so would/ should get a rebuild before fitment.
Anyway, I'll keep looking for a box then

i happened across this tonight :
Buildup!! 06 crown vic front suspension into 67 F100 - Page 36 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
KyleT on pirate showed me this 6L80e gearbox which might be able to clear an LT230 with some creativity. On the left.
Unfortunately there appear to be no standalone controllers for it yet.
Damn and Damn again now the Turbo truck spec clutch is slippingHave to check a few adjustments with the hydraulic cylinders but my suspiscion is that I will have to go to a higher load pressure plate, OR AN AUTO TRANS
....again
Not excited about a heavier clutch pedal or fitting a VH44 booster either.
Hmmmmmmmmm

Have you got enough pedal stroke to fit a smaller bore clutch MC and get some leverage back that way?
