I'm only amassing parts at the moment, I'll post pics etc when it all starts to come together.

    Interesting back at you

I looked at the landcruiser autos, but was a number of reasons I was put off...

Been too busy lately, but just bought a bunch of these.....

    AOD's

Head over to Perth in two weeks time and I'll bring back the converted one and make a copy or two.

The main case is 510mm long as opposed to 650mm for an LT85, and the pan doesn't stick out too far, so should be plenty of room to adapt.

Plan is to run one of these around in the Isuzu truck I have (as it's easier to fit the thing) for some testing. Then depending how the shifts are I'll either stick with the hydraulic or go with electronic control, change to the 4R70W gear set (for a wider spread) and plant it all in my long term project of a 130 (and that maybe behind a 6BG1T yet......)

You know I could probably find you a new home for the manual box so that all your dreams can come true with the auto....

Dual, triple? batteries and a spare starter motor and you should never need to roll start.... beside if you can't start it, that's when auto's get less boring and you become ingenious to get home

Finally got to Perth to ship the Auto back East.

The adapters length appears to push the LT230 back about 60mm.

It has used a new LT230 input gear with an internal spline to suit the output of the AOD. Hence, no modifications are needed to the AOD.

I will most likely redesign it so that instead of having a new LT230 input gear, that the output shaft of the AOD is instead modified to suit the original LT230 input gear and hence be able to keep stock engine and transfer case in the original position.

    It's currently still in transit.

What was it fitted into/ up to???

    Looks interesting

I canned my conversion as the donor cruiser box became 'unavailable'...

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

I think most of the details I have posted on the first page of this thread.

Basically this very box is out of a ford lincoln (and have been used in everything from mustangs to F150's - the later 4R70W with wider gear set into Crown Victorias to F250's)

This conversion was fitted to a 110 living in WA which had a turboed 4BD1 and had been in use for over 13 years... the owner tells me his rig is full of gear and very heavily loaded.

It has a bellhousing adapter ring to suit the Landrover 4BD1 Flywheel housing

And a rear adaptor to suit the LT230

    I'm rather excited too
