In it's current adapted form it pushes the transfer case back around 85mm.

Basically this very box is out of a ford lincoln (and have been used in everything from mustangs to F150's - the later 4R70W with wider gear set into Crown Victorias to F250's)

This conversion was fitted to a 110 living in WA which had a turboed 4BD1 and had been in use for over 13 years... the owner tells me his rig is full of gear and very heavily loaded.

It has a bellhousing adapter ring to suit the Landrover 4BD1 Flywheel housing

And a rear adaptor to suit the LT230

    I'm rather excited too

Thanks! yes certainly looks the goods. Can you deliver to Hobart???

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Just got some pricing for the plate to put the AOD auto up to the Landrover 4BD1 flywheel housing.

Those that are interested in this conversion should try to encourage Cost-Parts to start making his adapters again..... Is that Carcrafter?

I knew I couldn't match the price for the equivalent of what he is selling them for - I just didn't think by so much

I will make a batch of these now if anyone really is interested - for cost - nothing more (than my time), however they need to say by within a week from the date of this post. Otherwise I will be fitting this lone adapter plate to my vehicle - and it ain't being pulled out to be copied after that.

The original plan was to fit it all to the truck I had and take some time to test.... however someone drove past my truck and offered me good money for just the cab and seeing as all I really wanted was the box and engine - I sold it there and then - hence the reason in another post for the MSA with splitter coming out

Note: If anyone does get Isuzudieselswapper.com adaptor for 4BD1 to Ford AOD, then that's for the Truck flywheel housing which is 25mm thicker than the Landrover one and hence will push the AOD back further than the plate I have for the Landrover flywheel housing. Therefore if wishing to keep the transfer case in the orginal position - rear LT20 to AOD adapters will be different. So both you and I need to be aware of that

I will be fitting the current set up into my 110 for testing.

In the meantime I will be designing and building a conversion with the shortest possible total transmission length to push the engine as far back as practical in the engine bay and keep the transfer case in the original position.

It will not be very hard to also design this to keep both engine and transfer case in the original position - however I will not be building this unless someone really is interested and committed - now or in the future.

I currently have 4 AOD's sitting on my floor.

2 are known to be in good condition

    2 are unknowns.

Plan is to fit one good one to my 110 and keep the other good one as a spare for this set up - as they use original AOD's that are unmolested with their output shafts.

The other two 'unkowns' will be rebuilt with the new 'molested' output shaft to suit the shorter conversion - one to be fitted and the other as a spare. Most likely will rebuild them with the wider 4R70W gearset.

If anyone is interested in this, then please contact me.

To keep engine and LT230 in same place the rear adapter housing will be very similar to my MSA-LT230 housing. Only real difference being the plate the mates to the back of the alternative gearbox - otherwise same plate to LT230, same tube and same channel for gearbox mounts.

I am about to do another batch of MSA housings so will be most effecicent to do any for AOD's at the same time. More details about that soon.....

Yes that is Randy's AKA Carcrafter22. It seems a somewhat bitter divorce may be one reason why he is not making the kits. He has also decided to pursue Duramax interests and hardly if ever plays with or posts about 4BD1 stuff.

Smart man. The bloke who bought my truck cab was importing those engines... now he's importing the full vehicles... from mustangs to pick-ups. He has them converted to right hand drive in the Philliipines before arriving on soil here.

He's the man responsible for all those people buying up Crown Vic's for their front suspension too.
Everyone told him it wouldn't work under his early F series. Then they all ran out to copy him afterwards.

The Isuzu 4BD1T adapter market in the US has turned to crap. There have been three vendors over time and right now they are all out.
DieselTim with his NV adaptors I think never made enough to be worthwhile.
IsuzuDieselSwapper was shut down in Randy's divorce.
Allmaras adapters went the "all promise, no delivery and then punish the customer" route.

I'm sure the GFC isn't helping matters either.

Hi guys, long time no post

Yes the divorce was a bit nasty and for some reason she had to have the IDS website, not sure really since she isn't doing anything with it but oh well. I am working on getting things back up and running, thinking of a new name for the website right now but nothing sounds good or easily searchable, and no she won't sell me the website back LOL.

I do have a few adapters left mostly ford small block 302 pattern and I can machine isuzu auto flywheels to work with the IDS adapters instead of the manual flywheels.

Hopefully things will be going again within the next couple months.

Where does the domain renewal email to? If you get it let it expire and re-register back in your name.

It goes to an email she has changed it to. I believe she is just hanging onto it to keep it from me. Oh well, its not worth the trouble to deal worry about. Onward and upwards I always say.
