    I went for a short test-drive with no turbo or exhaust. It's deafening.
    But with a turbo and no muffler, I don't know. I suspect it's the sort of thing 18 year olds would love. I'm running a 2.25" system with one muffler, which is quiet. It'll be replaced with a mostly 3" system and straight through muffler at some stage.

    One interesting point, when I was tuning my boost compensator I did some driving with the waste-gate popped so boost was zero. At 100km/h I had exhaust drone that I could easily hear inside with the windows up. With the turbo working even with the windows down you hear the exhaust.

    I did that. Wasn't too noisy. Exhaust shop was 12km away.

    In fact it was MUCH quieter than driving my 2.25D to the exhaust shop with extractors and no exhaust.

    i got the exhuast shop to make my 3inch muffler with flanges so it could be removed
    also got them to make up a pipe to take the place of the muffler

    with out the muffler it is way to loud but i guess the volume would vary depending on the amount of boost?

    I used a complete 2002 Td5 defender system, just connected my dump pipe and engine section to the first flange before the original Td5 main muffler. If it flows enough for a chipped higher revving Td5 it should be fine for mine, and it is nice and quiet, looks OE, and fits easily. IMO the rear resonator is important, too.

    i find that the inside cab noise from the turbo is the annoying part as i am running a 3" with no mufflers it isnt really that loud its just turbo whistle more than anything.

    Unfortunately the person filming had the mic covered with finger so it's not the best quality....it's the gt2052s it's a shame I stuffed it being stupid as it lasted when running 20psi but as you already know its just to small for our application and our figures where chasing...

    Well that's a hard one as I play with fueling and timing all the time so it's never running the same settings all the time... 20psi from the turbo I was running with the fuel setting was pretty good performance but then I got more boost by permanently closing the wastegate which gained me 5psi more not much increase in performance as boost does not give you power as such .. I then got fuel pump mod done which then in turn upped max boost since wastegate is closed to 30psi (maybe more as gauge only reads to 30) that's when performance got rediculous but I couldn't burn it all hence new turbo now
