    Angry Where's the power going

I have question re my defenderwith 4bd1 NA. Max engine revs 3400 vehicle stationary. I can pull max reve in lower gears but in 4th and 5th I cant pull more than arouns 2100 rpm. Hence top speed is not too good. Any suggestions for improvement welcom.

Second question I've used the search engine on here but getting a bit frustrated s there's so much info. Can someone tell me the basic kit I need to turbo the 4BD1 i. E turbo, exhaust manifold what else. I have 12 weeks to prep for a top end trip and would like to improve performace if possible in that time.

    Thanks

turbo will fix top end issues. i can see the max fuel governor in top gear easily, . uphill or downhill.....

try winding your fuel screw out a little, about 1 turn. this'll make a n/a engine a bit smokey but will make it climb hills better.

some of the turbo bits req are i think listed in the isuzu part numbers reference in the beginning of the isuzu landie section .

Is the fuel screw the one that governs max throttle cable extension?

no, it is the one on the side of the injector pump that sits against a spring loaded cam.

the throttle stop screw/s are on top of the pump, the single max fuel screw is on the side.
