The whole form was nearly suspended after that.
Or in chem when we did the classic water electrolysis experiment, then re-mixed the gasses and ignited it.....
The entire school was evacuated after that one, and it was the bloody chem teacher that did it
None of us could hear anything till later that afternoon.
I took some home in a plastic coke bottle but it didn't go off near as well![]()
Or when the instructions came through from the education department that schools could no longer keep lithium and sodium as pure metals, so as an experiment we went down to the oval and tossed bits of each metal into big buckets of water
Again, under teacher supervision, but could you imagine anyone being silly enough to allow that these days.
Igniting magnesium ribbon was so passé in comparison.
Kids of today miss out on so much good stuff......
