    4bt1t what auto?

    Hi all
If you we're to put a auto behind a warm 4bt1t what would be used??

I think a overdrive would be needed.

    A 4l80e with a manual valve body?

Trying to avoid using a compushift or any other electrics .

    Cheers

Worth a shot. I know it's been done in the past, the guy who originally converted my rangie built another with a toyota autobox at the same time.

You'd have to use a toyota transfer or start making your own adapters.

How is prop-shaft to pan clearance on the other boxes?

There are a few guys in South Africa making LT230 adapters now for the Aisin box from the Lexus. But yes, the LC TC will also do, for the offset front & rear output flanges. And it will bolt straight to the auto box.
    But only part-time 4x4 AFAIK?

Several are part time. Many 80 series are fulltime but their low ratio is higher than LT230.

727 would be well strong enough but ageing. The Aisin/Toyota units (A340/340E) can be good and there are good upgrades available through MV Autos in Adelaide.

I think it would be good to keep the lt230 ,.
it would be nice and easy using the landcruiser box and TC as the are made for each other .
But then I feel I might as well putt a 12Ht / fe in to keep it simple and all bolting together .

How would a 3 speed with a 1.1 3rd and a 1.2 in the lt230 ?? Or would cruising rpm still be high??
