it should have a sticker on the back face under the filler plug, will be 1.003:1 or sometimes 1.223:1.

I have a LT230 in my garage that was behind an LT85 Isuzu. What ratio would this be? I assume 1.4 - same as the V8?
Cheers, David

Thanks Justin,
Unfortunately there is nothing there
The serial number is prefix 23D & according to the Ashcroft website, that doesn't exist !!
david, is it possibly a 28D? the stamping is sometimes a bit dodgy...if so it is a 1.223:1 discovery case.

G'day David, Im pretty sure mine is a 23D, which is 1.003:1. I'll check tonight and get back to you.
The Land Rover Australian handbook says it should be 1.003/3.198:1

My 1988 county trans assembly had a 1.211 from factory.

Sorry, can't find the bit of paper I scribbled it down on about a year ago, and I can't see the number now that its back in the vehicle. Am almost certain however that it was a 23D and that pretty much no one had a reference to it back then either.
