The RRC and disco I chassis are basically the same, nothing that I would see affecting a body swap.
The disco body is about 75mm shorter at the rear, it seams LR thought having a rear step was more important than the loss of internal space. But the body still mounts on the same points as on the RRC chassis. This is also where the disco body often develops cracks because the structural integrity suffered by making the step area.
It usually isn't too much problem getting rego - it will become a re-bodied range rover of the same year , not a later disco, as the chassis is what determines these matters.
