G'day Pete, I am guessing that setup is a home made one. The ones on the County follow the firewall across the top to the LH side then go down the footwell to the slave cylinder. Let me know if you need the part numbers. Brian
I'm looking to change the clutch lines on a standard 4BD1/LT95 setup. The current arrangement works fine (see photos below) but I'm not convinced that a free floating steel line going into a long flexible hose is going to take much punishment.
I'd be interested to know what others with the same setup have. Can a complete steel line - flexible hose - steel line solution be made from Landrover standard parts or is this going to have to be a custom build?
Here's what I currently have: Out of the slave cylinder is about 300mm of free floating steel line (this is the weak link I'm concerned about) connected to a flexible cable (the connection is not removable).
The other end at the master cylinder is just as messy. A steel pipe brazed onto the other end of the flexible hose. At a guess the flexible hose must be around 700mm long. You can just see the flexible hose dissappearing past the steering drop arm.
There are lots of part numbers on the net for pipes at both ends and flexible hoses but nothing seems quite right - and there is nothing in the parts list for this arrangement. Any ideas?
Cheers
Pete

Brian,
Ahhh, yes, going over the top makes much more sense.
I'd appreciate some help with the part numbers. The closest I can find that make sense are from the 110 parts manual, but there are several options to choose from and, of course, the 4BD1 doesn't feature in any of them. These are an "educated" guess:-
NRC8330: Clutch Pipe Master to Flexible Hose
NRC2211: Flexible Hose
577687: Clutch Pipe Slave to Flexible Hose
90577642: Bracket
I'm not convinced any of these part numbers are correct so I'd appreciate a double check before I order them.
Cheers
Pete

Just stop in at the local brake place. They should be able to sort something adequate out for you fairly easily.
Just get a stainless braided line made up with banjo fittings either end.
