If you have the option to fabricate, then do so with the truck engine mount rubber bushes as they are much stronger and durable than the LR spec ones. Also be careful with the height of the engine to make sure you get enough sump clearance over the diff at max suspension articulation, otherwise you will have to lower the bump stops which will limit your suspension travel.

AFAIK all the "off the shelf" gearbox options keep the engine and transfer in the same place, so if you work from there it should end up in the right place.

Mike_ie posted up some dimensions for where the engine should sit in his dummies thread, and Rovercare posted some photos in his 120 Extracab thread that show the mounts quite well IIRC.
Also, The LH mount on the engine itself is different to the truck one. Basically it's just shorter and more vertical angle. Might be a piccy in my conversion thread.
Not sure I agree with Flagg on the mounts. Truck ones are more solid, but that also equates to more vibration transferred to the chassis.

Further to the above posts, be aware that JRA extended the bump stops down when they fitted the 4BD1 engine. Without measuring, I guess about 25 mm lower.

I would use the Land Rover engine mounts as they are actually physically bigger (the area of the rubber section) than the truck mounts. I was going to use the mounts off the truck I got my engine from, but when I compared the mounts I went for the 'chunkier' Landy ones as they looked more appropriate for off road use.......there's a big lump of iron hangin' off those things.

i have a jig that bolts to shock tower holes and just fab mounts to suit. Just done range rover and they sit in the same spot. Have sat engine slightly higher to help clear maxi-drive actuator and also have 2" extended bump stops. PM me if you are interested in jig.

It's possible there's variation in truck engine mounts from different Isuzu truck models. I'm just going off what I have here and there's an obvious size difference.
