    4BD1 Water Pump

    Hi
Have a slight leaking water pump and a price on Isuzu replacement unit of $419. Appreciate any advice whether or not cost is normal and if I should be trying to get pump rebuilt. Internal condition unknown as still on vehicle.
    Cheers

Too dear I reckon. If you're handy with the tools you can rebuild them with genuine Isuzu parts go a lot less than that.
I did a tutorial a couple of years ago that's around here somewhere.
Other option is the ones on eBay. No idea about the quality but hopefully someone here has tried one.

Thanks guys, vehicle has been undergoing SLOW refurbishment for re-licence in WA after driving it back from NSW. Pump started weeping when I ran it after a few months layup.
I will get it off at leisure and see how it looks before committing to new one. Great thread for the overhaul.

    Smile 4BD Water Pump

    Hello again.
Managed to get a new pump through D Kyatt at list price $221.80.
For reference it is identical with markings to the original but excluding grease nipple. Comes complete ready to fit w/o heater outlet.
    Brand EXCEL Part No. 14020.002.
Much better than quoted ex Isuzu at $470 ex Melbourne!!
Cheers and thanks again for advice. Rod
