    AC compressor bracket?

Hi all, does anyone have a spare AC compressor mount bracket to suit my 4bd1 that I could buy please?

Or where can I get one?

Or am I better off just making one?

And are the factory isuzu truck AC brackets different to the factory land rover isuzu ones?

    Cheers, Andrew.

I got some truck brackets from a wrecker thinking that it would save me some time, but I ended up having to re-make them as they sat the compressor too low and there were clearance issues with the engine mount.
They were only fabricated brackets though - I'm not sure if there were proper factory ones or not.

Also note that there are (at least) 2 styles of alternator bracket - basically high mount and low mount - but they use the same holes on the block, and same size v-belt.
You want the high mount one to have clearance for the compressor.

You'll also need the extension pulley to bolt onto the harmonic balancer to drive it (or a multi-row harmonic balancer/pulley). My Stage1 front pulley didn't have the mount holes for the extension pulley but later engines did. Pay to check before you race out and buy an extension only to find you can't bolt it up.

Thanks Steve, I'll probably just make one unless someone has a land rover issue bracket. You have confirmed what I suspected that the truck ones won't fit. Lucky enough my motor already has a spare pully on the harmonic balancer, and hopefully the alternator is the hi mount version, not sure, but think it would be as it a factory land rover isuzu in an 84 120.

Andrew, I do have one on my project 110 but I will need it when I get around to converting it. If you want to borrow it to copy get in touch with me via PM.

A little off topic, but I have an ac bracket on my car still and without looking into it too much, it appears to be bolted to the block by a bolt that is recessed into the bracket. The recess hole diameter is only small, such that I can't get a socket or spanner in there to undo the bolt. Is this normal?

Yes it is.. I used a tube spanner three of the bolts need that treatment
