    clutch noise

just started getting a strange "whirring" noise when i put slight pressure on the clutch pedal-I'm suspecting the release bearing but had new clutch fitted not long ago-the clutch/gear change still works normally but has me a bit concerned something is about to let go-any ideas?

Its Isuzu speak, roughly translated it means "bout done with the appetizer, bring on the main"

(Youre on the money for the throwout bearing but there is an outside chance it could also be related to the spigot bearing or the input bearing. Which one of three is irrelevant to the initial stages of repair, either the engine or the gearbox has to come out. The safe bet is the throwout bearing and you may want to consider either or both of a better parts supplier or grease monkey.

Sadly I was assuming it was going to be a gearbox removal scenario

    unless you have
    • A gearbox jack
    • other box work to do
    • a hoist or pit

its usually easier to pull the engine
